Khachmaz
The wood-covered picturesque mountains border on   the Caspian sea in the Khachmaz district. That is why the Nabran resort attracts so many tourists. Besides the wonderful beauty of the nature there are also a lot of other interesting places in the region. Constructed in the last century, the railway stations of Khachmaz, Khudat, Gusarchay, Lachet, Charkhi, Yalam, the ancient barrows Sarkertepe, Chanakhir, Dayirmantepe and Hodjatepe, the remains of the ancient settlements and gravestones are the state-protected historical and archaeological monuments.
The region is situated in the north-eastern part of the republic, in the Samur-Divichi plain. The region borders on the Russia Federation in the north. There are 26 settlements on its territory.
Khachmaz is one of the biggest vegetable, fruit and grain growing  region of the republic.
